The Relay for Life of Greene County this Saturday will feature a community barbecue, served from 11 am to 1:30 pm, with the silent auction and entertainment throughout. Many of the silent auctions items are posted on the Relay’s Facebook page.
The entertainment begins with dancers from Prairie Blue Creative Arts at 11 am. The Town and Country Band will play at 11:30. At 12 pm Relay chair Peg Raney will introduce sponsors at the top levels of sponsorships.
A new event, a Lip Sync Battle, is slated for 12:10 pm. Local talent including Adam Pedersen, John Michael Sawhill, Annie Palmer and friends, and Parker Willis will “perform” in a people’s choice competition. Each act will collect donations, with the act garnering the most money being the winner. Of course, all proceeds will go to the Relay for Life.
A ballroom dancing demonstration will follow the Lip Sync Battle at 12:30 pm, with the Rhythm Room dancers at 1 pm.
The Relay for Life begins at 9:30 am at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson and will end at 2:30 pm. For a complete schedule, visit www.relayforlife.org/greenecountyia
